The Torn by Spinespur original figures

Edit: I have learned from Spinespur that these figs are
discontinued due to how thin they came out. The figures
listed on their site, shown on webstores and Vampifans blog
are the ones that are available now. So to see what you can
actually buy please check out these sites. IN essence what
you see here is a limited run. Some may be available
somewhere but that is something you will have to find out
if you want these three. My apologies for not noticing.
Some creatures from Spinespur that make nice half
skinned nude zombies. Bloody and horrifying they make
a nice addition to my collection. Nice sculpts that are fun
to paint. I used alot of drybrushing and washes. I started
out with watered down elf flesh, then a red wash, followed
by blue and black washes. I dryvrushed them witha light
gray and then white. Afterwards I added really bloody
spots, highlighted their guts and painted the eyes white.

  1. Rog, when I first glanced at your review I thought, aha, deja vu, as I reviewed the Spinespur Torn figures earlier this month (see http://vampifansworldoftheundead.blogspot.com/2009/08/spinespur-zombies.html ). However, a closer look reveals that these are not the three Torn figures I reviewed. The poses are completely different. I've just checked out the Spinespur website at Comfy Chair Games and they only list the set that I reviewed. What's happening? Obviously there is a second set available, unless the first set has been resculpted, which doesn't make any sense to me. I like these figures a lot and I definitely want to add the ones you've reviewed to my own collection. Methinks, it might be worthwhile dropping Comfy Chair Games a line to see what's happening. if you have any input on this discrepancy I'd love to hear it. Oh, by the way, nice paint jobs. Gore hounds can really go to town with these figures.

  2. That is very strange, I checked their website and the warstore and they have your set. I need to track back to where I bought these from. I believe I got them off an ebay dealer.
Now I want to buy the three you have as I was very happy with the others.

  3. That's a great paint job. It's a pity they've been discontinued.

  4. Many thanks for clearing that up, Rog. It looks like I'm going to be out of luck in getting hold of your three original minis. Sigh, never mind! On the other hand, you've lucked out! Score one to Rogzombie!
