I'm back!!! At least tonight. Its been almost a year. A crazy year with no zombies and no fun :) But we got some real fun tonight. Zombie Cheerleaders!!! From Victory Force, a great set of 6 zombies. This is the first personal painting I have done in ages. I took the opportunity to experiment a bit. I used a fresher look to the zombies, skintones that are almost human. I also used the opportunity to work on my hair technique a bit. Because of the girls red uniforms, I went minimal on the blood. Just by using the skin color lightly the basecoat of black showed thru enough to give a bruised look. I really dont have much time for personal projects so I do these quickly. I try not to be sloppy but I do need quicker techniques than I would do for a client. I hope you like them. They are available for your horde from Victory Force Miniatures; http://www.victoryforce.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=VFM&Product_Code=033004&Category_Code=creatures
They look great! And welcome back mate.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lord Siwoc! I hope to use this blog more frequently but I have so many balls in the air as they used to say, lol!
ReplyDeleteHi, Roger, it's great to have you back. You have been busy, haven't you? These figures are just exquisitely well painted. I think they're just beautiful. I'm not sure you can say that about a shambling corpse with his guts hanging out of his stomach, but you know what I mean. I recognise most of your figures but not all of them. I'm guessing those I don't recognise are probably from Reaper. The teenage girl in the red and white dress, for example is one I haven't seen before. She's gorgeous! Welcome back, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you again Bryan. The cheerleader girl is from Superfigs civilian line as is the small boy in the winter attire. The boy in the hoodie is Reaper. The female in purple is a conversion from a clix fig. Hero clix or something. The others should be recognizable.
ReplyDeleteGreat work Rogzombie, I have visited your site before and like what you do, but I feared it was dead in the water, I guess thats not the case ! welcome back to the world of the living ...Urmm I mean Dead.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, I always lurked your blog in utter silence, time has come to let hear my voice, well, my typing.... :)
ReplyDeleteNice work, with those, I can't recognise the clix and, speaking of conversions, I suppose it's a great compliment!! ;)
Well done...
Lovely minis! I am sure I have those three old Citadel fellas somwhere...you have inspired me to dig them out!
ReplyDeleteSome really great minis there. Great to see the horde growing! Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThank you guys. Its been a tough year for me, not a lot of time to work on my own stuff. But I have started to sneak some in with my commission stuff for relaxation which I desperately need. Thank Vampifan, he got me inspired to start the blog up again.
ReplyDeleteI'll try to put something up maybe like every Thursday if I have anything new. I'd like to do some book reviews as well. Theres a lot of stuff out there people dont know about that would make great sources of campaign ideas.
Thanks again guys, it's really awesome knowing you are watching!
Great brush work! BTW, I've nominated your blog for the Stylish Blogger Award

Spartan 117
It's great to see you're back in the groove, Roger. I'd like to see you do book reviews as well as your figure painting. I'm reading more zombie novels now than I ever have but I still have a long way to go to match your knowledge of zombie literature. It's a niche that I think you could fill very well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Spartan 117, I really appreciate it but hardly deserve it. I may paint okay but I havent been a very good blogger lately :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan, but it remains to be seen how I will STAY in the groove, lol. Although I have some ideas for stuff I can do as well as book reviews so hopefully I can get something up every week.
